Soulmates Across Time
During the time of the First Crusade, the Church and the Lords of the Land are fearsome and powerful. God has spoken. There is Holy War—no place for concepts of love and mercy. Inspired, Leoné teaches those truths to his students at the Lyon Monastery with little thought of consequence. However, fearful of retribution the Church may levy upon them all, Leoné’s superior, the Abbot, writes Archbishop Beckett for guidance, evoking an immediate and hostile response from the Archbishop’s subordinate, Bishop Yoleé. Yoleé, custodian of the populace while the Archbishop and his warlords are away, believes Leoné’s teachings threaten the Bishop’s position in the name of love and life everlasting—an intolerable situation. Can Leoné survive Yoleé’s wrath to be with the woman he loves?
