Portrait of a Ledgend

(A work in progress)

This piece began as a pencil sketch and was digitally edited and crafted into what I feel is a fitting portrait of the lovely Ms. Hepburn at a young age. I used a picture on a calendar to look at, as I am terrible otherwise at producing an image with my pencil without a model. I love this picture because it seems to capture an innocent, youthful Audrey. There is a touch of saddness in her expression. Yet, you almost feel that any moment she will break out in to that infectious smile that wins the hearts of those around her. This was the third step of my four part process in this series.
